Connected Terminals, Better Passenger Experience

Every arrival wave brings thousands of devices onto the same network at the same moment — passengers, staff, airlines, contractors, retail tenants and IoT, each with different needs. ANTlabs gives airports one platform to onboard them all, keep them separated, and keep the internet usable at peak.

The problem

A terminal is not one network. It is a dozen networks sharing one pipe.

An airport has to serve a community that has almost nothing in common. A business traveler with 40 minutes before boarding wants to clear an inbox. A family in transit wants to stream. Ground staff need a connection that never drops. A retail tenant needs guaranteed throughput for point-of-sale. CCTV and operational IoT need to sit somewhere nobody else can reach.

They all arrive at once, and the pattern is impossible to average out. Demand does not build gradually — it spikes when a wide-body lands, when a delay strands three flights in the same hall, when a campaign fills a concourse that was never scoped for that crowd.

An empty gate lounge, until the next boarding call. Then hundreds of passengers sit down and every phone, laptop and tablet tries to join the same Wi-Fi at once. Too many devices competing for too little capacity means failed log-ins, dropped sessions and a network nobody can use, right when passengers need it most.

Peak concurrency is unpredictable

Sudden surges in device connections and traffic, driven by arrival banks and irregular operations rather than a smooth daily curve.

International travelers get stuck at the front door

Limited roaming, no local SIM, and SMS one-time passcodes that may never arrive across borders.

One service tier cannot fit everyone

Different user groups need different session durations, bandwidth allocations, volume caps and commercial models.

Free is expected — but not free to deliver

Passengers assume complimentary access; operators still carry the cost of the upstream circuits.

Terminals do not behave as one venue

Users need to roam across terminals and satellite buildings that may run different wireless controllers and network infrastructure.

Portal changes get stuck in queues

Non-technical teams need to update branding and content quickly, without a change ticket and without breaking a live login page.

Traceability versus friction

Public Wi-Fi must support user identification and traceability without turning onboarding into an interrogation.

The solution

One service platform behind every SSID in the airport

ANTlabs combines high-capacity gateways with the ASP service management platform, so a single team can define who gets what, where, for how long, and at what speed — across every terminal, tenant and user group.

ANTlabs capability mapped to the problem it solves
ANTlabs capability What it solves
High-capacity gateways Scalable service delivery with built-in DHCP and DNS, engineered for network surges and deployable in high-availability, clustered, on-premises or virtualized architectures.
ASP centralized management Central administration of gateway services, locations, authentication policies, captive portals and service configuration from one console.
Flexible passenger onboarding Native mobile login plus multiple local or integrated authentication methods — boarding-pass approaches, social platforms, messaging platforms, SMS and guest portal access.
Terminal and location roaming Users roam across locations served by different wireless controllers or network environments without re-authenticating from scratch.
Advanced QoS Multi-stage bandwidth management distributes available internet capacity by user type, account, service tier or operational priority.
Customizable multilingual portals Branded, venue-specific, multilingual onboarding built from controlled templates that airport teams can edit safely.
ANTlabsEzScan Simplifies passenger Wi-Fi onboarding through boarding-pass scanning, providing authenticated access without relying solely on SMS OTP while supporting user identification and traceability.
Engagement and monetization Sponsored portal experiences, advertising, airport website redirection, premium Wi-Fi bundles and tenant internet services.
Bandwidth tiering

Separate the pipe before the pipe separates you

Instead of one contended link, the upstream ISP capacity is split into dynamically adjustable tiers — a premium VIP tier, a staff tier, a basic passenger tier, and individually sized tenant tiers. Plans are allocated to the correct tier, and tier sizes flex as conditions change. Airports get maximum flexibility without over-provisioning the circuit.

Give passengers a login they can actually complete

Single-click complimentary access. Boarding-pass scanning for airline recognition. Staff Active Directory login. Pre-approved access codes for contractors. Messaging-app OTP where SMS is unreliable. When one path fails for a given traveler, another one works.

The impact

What changes after deployment

Connectivity that travels well

Consistent access for travelers from different countries, on different devices, without depending on local mobile coverage.

Usable internet at peak

The service stays workable during heavy passenger traffic and major arrival banks, rather than degrading for everyone equally.

Faster onboarding

Multiple authentication choices remove the single point of failure that a one-method login creates.

Operational priority where it matters

Staff, retail operations and other critical communities can be prioritized when conditions demand it.

Fewer tickets, faster response

Centralized management and configurable portals cut the operational load on airport IT.

More predictable provisioning cost

Bandwidth controls reduce the need to buy capacity for the worst hour of the year.

New revenue lines

Premium access, advertising, promotions and tenant services turn a cost center into a contributor.

A digital foundation

Passenger recognition, engagement and future service delivery all build on the same platform.

Next step

Scoped for your terminal, not a generic venue

Every airport has a different mix of terminals, controllers, tenants and traffic patterns. Bring us yours and we will map it against the capabilities your terminal needs.
