SG 4 S-Series Update #12

This update adds the following enhancements:

  • Sync down VLANs configured at ASP
  • Personal Area Network (PAN) enhancements:
    • Added support for Cisco/Meraki and Xirrus
    • Allow admin to configure the desired VLAN to revert to upon client logout
      • See PAN > Server Configuration > Default VLAN
    • Enhancements in issuing Change of Authorization (CoA):
      • Shortened delay in issuing CoA for quicker transit to the secure VLAN
      • Automatic update of client VLAN information
        • This ensures timely client location update after issuing CoA rather than relying only on user traffic
      • Support for CoA re-auth message for Meraki
    • PAN logs are now downloadable via SFTP

The update fixes the following issues:

  • CLI restart command not restarting the required services despite displaying “done”
  • CoA message during device logout does not honour Use NAS IP (in PAN Server Config) if Other Server IP has been saved previously

After this update has been applied to the gateway, ASP-configured VLANs will start syncing to the gateway.

Take note of the following advice before applying this update:

If you are using No VLAN to transport your user traffic and have configured No VLAN to point to a gateway-configured location, before applying this update, you are strongly advised to:

    • Gateway GUI: change No VLAN to point to an ASP-configured location

    • ASP GUI: ensure No VLAN is pointing to the same ASP-configured location

Details:

Syncing of ASP configuration to the gateway is triggered upon any change to a location, bandwidth, plan, or VLAN.

As such, if your gateway has a VLAN ID pointing to a locally-configured location, while ASP has the same VLAN ID pointing to its own ASP-configured location, after this update has been applied, any ASP configuration change will trigger a sync to the gateway, causing that VLAN ID to switch from a locally-configured location to an ASP-configured one, which may not carry your location requirements.
